Dumelang!
As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we’re filled with a sense of pride about what we’ve achieved so far and excitement about the future. What started as a bold idea a decade ago has grown into a global movement, delivering over 2 million evidence-based lessons and counting. We åhave stayed true to our mission every step of the way: to connect youth to proven life-changing information. As anyone that has worked with us will know, we are obsessed with data – so it will come as no surprise to hear that we were excited to measure our impact over the past 10 years.
We are now thrilled to share our 10 Year Impact Reports and invite you to:
How Did We Do?
After crunching the numbers, here are some our favorite facts:
Our Story So Far
It all began on March 22, 2014, at the University of Botswana. Over 1,000 people gathered to launch what would become a movement dedicated to taking evidence off the shelves and putting it into action. Our co-founder, Moitshepi Matsheng, captured our vision perfectly that day when she said, “It’s time we stop guessing. It’s time to scale what works.”
Ten years later, that vision has become reality. We’ve expanded beyond our initial health program, adding education programs Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) and ConnectEd. We’ve also established ourselves as a global leader in translating evidence into scaled action.
Where We’re Going
As we look to the next 10 years, we’re excited about what’s to come. Our focus will be on reaching national scale in multiple innovation hubs, integrating into government systems for scale and sustainability, and building a network of organizations connecting evidence with action. We are accelerating towards our first million youth reached with evidence-based programming, and continue learning how to maximize impact, collaborations with government, and scalability every day.
Thank You
Our work over the past decade wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our partners in government, implementation, research and funding – and rockstar team. We have been inspired and motivated by you all. Thank you for being a part of the Youth Impact story.
With appreciation,
Moitshepi Matsheng, Co-Founder
